Workshop Description
This unique training is an invaluable tool for dancers, actors, adult beginners, encouraging participants to open up and expand physically and energetically. The work incorporates Japanese Butoh techniques, guided imagery, bio-energetics, core energetics, creative movement, improvisation, release techniques & elements of Noguchi gymnastics. All levels are welcome.
Vangeline is a dancer, teacher and choreographer from France. She is a Butoh artist and the Artistic Director of the Vangeline Theater in NYC. Vangeline studied extensively with Diego Piñón from the Butoh Ritual Mexicano. With Diego, she studied Bioenergetics, Core Energetics, and Gestalt; as well as theater techniques (Ritual Theater), and release techniques. Among Vangeline’s other teachers are the renowned Butoh masters, Yoshito Ohno, Akira Kasai, Yumiko Yushioka, Ko Murobushi, Daisuke Yoshimoto, Tetsuro Fukuhara, and Katsura Kan.
